Assay Development Scientist
Alicia Newton comes to Grace Science with an industry background in virologic and immuno-oncologic diagnostic and therapeutic immunoassay development. Before joining Grace Science, Alicia worked on developing companion diagnostics at Monogram Biosciences. She started her career in the Cancer Research Department at Berlex Laboratories identifying novel apoptosis inhibitors using antisense reagents and characterizing antibodies for oncologic indications. After nine years with Berlex, Alicia joined the Oncology Research Department at Monogram Biosciences where she worked on proximity-based immunoassays. She then joined the Virology Research Department where she investigated HIV and HCV drug resistance and developed anti-AAV neutralizing antibody assays. Soon after Alicia became the CDx Project Director supporting the planning and validation of single laboratory use companion diagnostic assays. Alicia is committed to improving patient health and survival rates.
